Website Maintenance & Support

Updates, backups, monitoring, and a developer on call — so your website stays fast, secure, and online without it becoming someone's side job.

Website Maintenance That Prevents Problems Instead of Reacting to Them

A website isn't finished at launch. Plugins and packages keep releasing updates, certificates expire, page speed drifts as content piles up, and vulnerabilities get published whether or not anyone is watching. Most sites don't fail dramatically — they degrade quietly until something visible breaks.

Codensic provides ongoing website maintenance and support for businesses that would rather not think about any of that. We handle updates on staging before they reach production, keep backups tested and offsite, watch uptime and performance around the clock, and stay available when you need a change made. We maintain WordPress and WooCommerce sites as well as custom web applications — whether or not we built them.

Developer monitoring website performance and security

Why Ongoing Maintenance Matters

The cost of maintenance is predictable. The cost of neglecting it usually isn't:

  • Outdated plugins and dependencies are the most common way sites get compromised
  • Downtime costs leads long before anyone internally notices the site is offline
  • Performance decays as content, images, and traffic accumulate over time
  • Search rankings suffer from broken pages, slow loads, and expired certificates
  • A developer who already knows your codebase fixes problems in hours, not days
  • A predictable monthly cost beats an emergency rebuild quote after a breach

What Our Maintenance Plans Cover

The routine work that keeps a website secure, fast, and current — handled before it turns into an emergency.

Core, Theme & Plugin Updates

Updates applied on staging and tested before they touch production — because the update that breaks your checkout always lands on a Friday afternoon.

Security Monitoring & Hardening

Malware scanning, firewall rules, login protection, and file permission audits, with patches applied as vulnerabilities are disclosed rather than after.

GET STARTEDGET STARTED

Automated Backups & Recovery

Scheduled offsite backups of files and database — and, just as importantly, restores we've actually tested so recovery isn't a first attempt under pressure.

GET STARTEDGET STARTED

Uptime & Performance Monitoring

Round-the-clock checks that alert us when the site goes down or slows, so problems get found before a customer calls to report them.

GET STARTEDGET STARTED

Bug Fixes & Troubleshooting

Forms that stopped sending, layouts breaking on one browser, a payment step failing intermittently — diagnosed and fixed at the cause.

GET STARTEDGET STARTED

Content & Small Change Requests

Copy edits, new pages, image swaps, and seasonal updates handled by a developer, without pulling your team away from their actual work.

GET STARTEDGET STARTED

Speed & Core Web Vitals Tuning

Ongoing performance work as your library of content and images grows, keeping load times and Core Web Vitals from quietly drifting.

GET STARTEDGET STARTED

Framework & Dependency Upgrades

For custom builds: keeping Next.js, React, Node, and Laravel versions current and patched, so upgrades stay routine instead of becoming a rewrite.

Hosting, SSL & Domain Management

Certificate and domain renewals tracked, DNS handled, and hosting issues escalated on your behalf so nothing expires unnoticed.

What We Monitor

Continuous checks running in the background, so issues surface to us before they surface to your customers.

  • Uptime & Availability
  • Core Web Vitals
  • SSL & Domain Expiry
  • Malware & Security Scans
  • Backup Integrity
  • Broken Links & 404s
  • Server & Error Logs
  • Dependency Vulnerabilities

How Our Maintenance Works

From onboarding audit to a monthly report you can actually use.

  1. Site Audit & Onboarding

We review your current site, hosting, and codebase to document what's there and flag anything already at risk.

  2. Baseline & Hardening

Backups, monitoring, and security measures get set up properly, and we clear the outstanding issues the audit surfaced.

  3. Scheduled Maintenance

Updates are applied and tested on staging on a regular cycle, so nothing reaches your live site untested.

  4. Monitoring & Response

Automated checks run continuously, and when something breaks we investigate and fix it rather than forwarding you an alert.

  5. Reporting & Review

A plain-language monthly summary of what was updated, what was fixed, and anything worth planning for next.

Why Choose Codensic

What ongoing support actually looks like when you work with us.

Developers, Not a Ticket Queue

Your request goes to an engineer who can read the code, not a first-line agent working from a script who escalates anything non-obvious.

Nothing Ships Untested

Updates are applied to a staging copy and checked before production. It's slower than clicking update-all, and it's why sites we maintain don't break on a Tuesday.

WordPress and Custom Builds

We maintain WordPress and WooCommerce sites alongside custom Next.js, React, and Laravel applications — most agencies handle only one of those.

Reporting You Can Actually Read

A monthly summary in plain language covering what changed and what needs attention — not a raw log export nobody opens.

Frequently Asked Questions

What businesses ask us most before putting a site on a maintenance plan.

Every plan covers the fundamentals: core, theme, plugin, and dependency updates tested on staging; security monitoring and malware scanning; automated offsite backups; uptime and performance monitoring; and a monthly report. Plans also include a set allowance of development time each month for content changes, fixes, and small improvements — the size of that allowance is what mainly differs between plans.

Yes, and it's a large part of what we do. We start with an audit of the site, its hosting, and its codebase so we know exactly what we're taking on. If we find issues that need fixing before ongoing maintenance makes sense, we'll quote that separately and up front rather than absorbing it quietly or discovering it mid-incident.

It depends on the platform, the complexity of the site, and how much development time you want included each month. A brochure site needs far less than a WooCommerce store or a custom application with active users. After a short audit we'll recommend a plan and quote it clearly, with no long-term contract required.

Response times are agreed as part of your plan, so you know what to expect before you need it rather than reading the fine print during an outage. Site-down and security incidents are always treated as urgent and jump the queue ahead of routine requests, regardless of plan.

We're usually alerted by monitoring before you notice. From there we take the site to a safe state, restore from a known-clean backup where needed, find and close the entry point, and then tell you plainly what happened and what we changed. Cleanup on sites already compromised before onboarding is handled as a separate recovery project.

Yes. Alongside WordPress and WooCommerce we maintain custom applications built in Next.js, React, Node.js, and Laravel — keeping frameworks and packages patched, watching error logs, and handling upgrades before versions reach end of life. If we built it, we already know it; if we didn't, the onboarding audit gets us there.

Yes. Plans are month to month and can be moved up or down as your needs change. If you leave, your backups, documentation, and access are handed over — we don't hold hosting, domains, or code hostage as a retention tactic.

You can, and for a simple site with few plugins that's a reasonable choice. The risk is that updates occasionally conflict with each other or with custom code, and the failure often shows up somewhere you weren't looking — a form, a checkout step, a mobile layout. Maintenance is really about testing before deploying and having backups that have been proven to restore, which is the part that's easy to skip until the day it matters.
